10. My Name Is Khan

This amazing movie featuring India’s favorite pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol was made at a whopping budget of 100 crores. The movie is known for Shahrukh trying to prove to the President of the United States that not everyone with the surname Khan is a terrorist. The movie’s locations, superb story line, capturing dialogues and explosive star cast made it one of the best movies by Karan Johar.
9. Jai Ho
Budget: 107 crores
Jai Ho is an explosive action drama that was produced and directed by Sohail Khan. The movie stars Salman Khan along with tabu, Aditya Pancholi, Daisy Shah and Danny Denzongpa. Although Jai Ho was made at a very high budget, it recovered its money in no time. The worldwide distribution rights of the movie were alone sold for 110 crores.
8. Krrish 3
Budget: 115 crores
This was Rakesh Roshan’s home production and a sequel to the very popular ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ and Krishh. While the movie promised to re- launch Vivek Oberoi’s career and meet the standards of International movies, the third sequel didn’t seem to go down too well with the audience.

Kick was a 2014 action movie that was directed by Sajid Nadiadwaala. The movie is a remake of a Tamil movie named Kick which released in 2009. The movie did well and managed to set a record of making the second highest amount on a non holiday opening.
6. Kochadaiiyaan

Kochadaiiyaan is a monumental 2014 Tamil epic fold that was directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and features the undisputed superstar of India, Rajnikanth. This movie is India’s first ever photo realistic motion picture. The characters were exact replicas of their respective actors and the details and accuracy of the characters was simply breathtaking. This movie is about the quest of an 8th Century warrior seeking revenge against his father’s killers.
5. Dhoom 3
Budget: 125 crores
Dhoom 3 is known as the first ever movie portraying Aamir Khan in a negative role. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and Katrina Kaif as well. The movie is known for amazing CGI effects and the best sports bikes in the world. This was certainly one of the best movies of 2013 and the money spent on making was surely worth it.
4. Blue
Budget: 126 crores
This action adventure movie was directed b Anthony D’Souza and was written by American writers Bryan Sullivan and Joshua Lurie. While the movie had a special appearance by Kylie Minogue, the movie did not please the audience in any way. This movie was a major fail and the producers did not manage to recover their money.

Budget: 135 crores
Ra.One was an Indian superhero movie featuring Shahrukh Khan as the superhero. The movie features Shahrukh Khan as a game developer wherein he develops a motion sensor game to impress his son. The game features Ra.One as the antagonist who is more powerful than G.One, the protagonist. Ra.One escapes from the virtual world of the game to kill the only gamer to ever beat him, Shahrukh Khan’s son. This forces the family to bring G.One to life to protect them and defeat Ra.One.
2. Robot
Budget: 150 crores
Robot or Enthiran, was a Tamil language science fiction movie which was released in multiple languages. This movie was one of the highest budget movies for a long time. While people were skeptical about the performance of the movie, this Rajikanth starrer managed to recover the money in no time. It later went on to become the highest grossing Tamil movie of all time at that time.

Budget: 250 crores
Baahubali is an epic historic Indian movie directed by S.S. Rajamouli. This was the first of two parts. Baahubali showcased amazing war scenes and the most amazing CGI you will ever see in an Indian movie. Just to gauge its popularity, Baahubali became the first ever South Indian movie to gross over 600 crores worldwide.
