Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise Bhi is a serial revolving around the relationship between the main characters of the show, Dev and Sonakshi, and the impact their love has on the mother-son relationship between Dev and his mother Ishwari. The serial attempts to trace the emotions and problems experienced by a doting mother when her devoted son falls in love and marries a woman and brings her home to share his life. The serial first aired on Sony Entertainment Television on 29th February 2016. The serial has been produced by Mamta Patnaik and Yash Patnaik and directed by Jagrut Vijay Mehta and Noel Smith. This is the list of the real names of the star cast appearing in the serial.
1. Shaheer Sheikh as Devrath Dixit (Dev)
Shaheer Sheikh plays the role of Devrath Dixit. Dev is a successful businessman who lives in Delhi with his three younger sisters and his mother. Dev has seen much hardship in life before achieving success and is very devoted to his mother who has worked very hard for providing him good education following the death of his father. Shaheer Sheikh is a lawyer, model and actor. He is best remembered for playing the role of Arjuna in the serial Mahabharata. He was in the lead role in the series Kya Mast Hai Life. He was also seen in the role of Nana Saheb in the serial Jhansi Ki Rani. Sheikh is very popular in Indonesia. He has acted in the Indonesian film Turis Romantis and a serial Cinta di Langit Taj. He has also hosted an Indonesian reality show Panah Asmara Arjuna in the year 2014. Owing to his popularity in Indonesia, his current assignment Kuch Rang Pyar ke Aise Bhi is also screened in that country. In 2015, he co-hosted the show Asia’s Got Talent with Marc Nelson. Sheikh was also among the top 50 sexiest Asian males for the year 2015 in a list released by a UK based newspaper.
2. Erica Fernandes as Sonakshi Bose
Erica Fernandes essays the role of Dr Sonakshi Bose who is the love interest and later the wife of Dev Dixit. Dr Sonakshi is a nutritionist who hails from a middle class Bengali family. She appears in the life of Dev Dixit as a nutritionist entrusted with the care of his mother Ishwari. The two soon fall in love and eventually marry. Dr Sonakshi has been shown to be a very strong and independent woman who loves her family dearly. Erica Fernandes was among the top ten in the Miss India contest 2012. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. She appeared in the Tamil film Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu in the year 2013 and in a Kannada film Ninnindale the same year. She acted in a Hindi film Babloo Happy Hai in 2014. Her first Telugu film was Galipatam which was also released in the year 2014. Erica won the Asian Viewer’s Television Award for the best actress this year. She was also nominated in two categories for the Zee Gold Awards.
3. Supriya Pilgaonkar as Ishwari Dixit
Supriya Pilgaonkar plays the role of Ishwari Dixit, the mother of Dev Dixit. She is very attached to her son and thinks the world of him. Ishwari is very unsecure and perturbed after the appearance of Sonakshi in her household as the daughter-in-law. Ishwari’s emotions and insecurity form the core of the serial and also its main plot. Supriya Pilgaonkar is a veteran Marathi actress who has acted in many successful Marathi films. She is best known for her performance in the Hindi comedy serial Tu Tu Main Main. Other Hindi serials where she has played a role include Kadvee Khattee Meethi, Sasural Genda Phool, Basera, Kabhi Biwi Kabhi Jasoos, etc. She has five awards to her credit in her acting career.
4. Jagat Rawat as Bijoy Bose
He plays the role of Sonakshi’s father, Bijoy Bose. Jagat Rawat is a theatre actor who has appeared in a number of films and serials. Films in which has appeared include 1920 London, Manjhi-The Mountain Man, Ab tak chappan and Raaz-3D.
5. Moon Banerjee as Asha Bose
Moon Banerjee plays the role of Sonakshi’s mother, Asha Bose. Moon Banerjee has acted in the famous serial Kasauti Zindagi Ki. She was also seen in the serial Sasural Genda Phool.
