How to get in Gangtok?
There are many ways to reach the marvelous town of Gangtok. You can visit it by air, by train, or by road. If you want to get in by air, then the nearest airport to Gangtok is Bagdogra Airport that is almost 124 kilometers away from the town. This takes almost 40 minutes’ drive to reach there. Several airlines are connected to Bagdogra airport including Air Deccan, Jet Airlines etc. from this airport is also connected the helicopter services but that depends on the weather conditions of city.
If travelling by road is your priority, then you may have many options. Several vehicles drive to Gangtok daily in Siliguri, which is almost 114 kilometers away from Gangtok and takes only 4 hours to reach.

Gangtok is also known as the center of Buddhist learning and culture because of the majority of population of Buddhist there. So there many religious as well as adventurous sites in Gangtok those are worth visiting. These include:
- Tsomgo Lake: Tsomgo Lake is a popular tourist attraction as well as the sacred place for Hindus as a small Shiva temple is also present at its side. The lake is enriched by the lush green meadows surrounding the whole lake and adding to the beauty of Gangtok.
- Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple: another sacred place located at the temple is the focus of tourists because it is renowned place that offers organized Darshan system with the peaceful environment.
- Singhik Viewpoint: a sleepy little town that is famous for its matchless beauty and paradisiacal retreat.
