The Hindu religion is marked by a number of festivals. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism is Dussehra and Vijayadashami, which marks the victory of good over evil. On this day, Lord Rama killed the demon Ravana and won the battle against him. It is a national holiday in India, with all schools, colleges, offices and government institutes being closed for the day. Dussehra also marks the upcoming festive season the country, with the biggest Hindu festival of Diwali falling 20 days after it. The festival of Dussehra is not only celebrated at a lavish scale in all the states of India but also in many countries around the world, where the Indians settled their carry forward their tradition and legacy.
