The Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the most popular national parks that is located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. This park was declared as a national park in 1968. Bandhavgarh has its mention in a number of historical legends and is also mentioned in the Ramayana. The literal translation of Bandhavgarh means brother and fort. The reason this place was given this name is because it is believed that this land was gifted to Lakshmana by his brother Lord Rama. Best Time To Visit
If you’re planning to visit Bandhavgarh you should plan your holiday in accordance to the national park timings. The park is open to visitors between 15th of October to 30th of June. It remains closed during the monsoon since it is not safe during this time of the year. It is closed all of July to October. Bandhavgarh is also open from March to May which is the best time to visit the park since this is when most of the vegetation is dry and it becomes easy to spot the animals.
