Remains from the Kushana era have also been found near Bharadwaj Ashram. These remains are said to be as old as the 1st century AD. Allahabad is also said to be the headquarters of the Northwestern British province after the mutiny of 1857.

The climate in summer is extremely hot and the weather is extremely cold in winters. During summers the temperature reaches a maximum of 45°C and it is best to avoid visiting Allahabad during summer. The best thing to do in Allahabad is visit a lot of the cultural places. This will not be possible if the weather is not ideal.
