How To Apply For FSSAI Certificate Online In India, Registration Documents, Eligibility Criteria

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India(FSSAI) is an organization that is established to perform the functions that have been assigned to it. The Government of India and Ministry of Health and Family Affair control the FSSAI, which has been established in accordance with the Food Safety and Security Act of 2006. Whether you operate in the central level or state level, you must ensure that your business is properly licensed. If any Food Business has its branch in more than one state, then you would need an additional Central License. There are basically there different types of FSSAI certificate available:

  • Basic Registration
  • State Registration
  • Central Registration

To apply for the FSSAIcertificate in India, you need to go to https://www.legalraasta.com/fssai-license/ and fill up the online form with your details. Documents required

You would require the following documents to apply for a FSSAI certificate online in India, and these are as follows:

  • Declaration form
  • Authority letter
  • Copy of proper paper (if applicable)
  • Copy of rent agreement
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID of Proprietor, Partners or Director
  • Duly filled up Form IX – Nomination of individuals by a Company
  • Electricity or Water bill of the business or office site
  • Food Safety Management System plan or certificate

Go to the Food Licensing and Registration System (FLRS) website and click on the tool that says ‘check your eligibility’. This tool will tell you whether or not you are eligible for a state licensing or central licensing/ registration.

If you are deemed fit or eligible to apply for the FSSAI certificate you need to check whether you have all the documents ready in electronic format. If not, you may need to get the documents scanned and saved in your computer to be used when required. You must ensure that all online documents are ready before going ahead with online form application.

You will see a self-help portal on the top right hand side. Sign up with your details to create your unique user ID and password.

You may now sign in with your user name and password to get to your account. Once you are there, you may now click on ‘Apply for Licensing/ Registration’. You will then need to select the state and the nature of business you have.

Now press the button that says ‘Click to apply’ in order to complete the online application process.

Click on Form B and fill up all the fields with the required information. Always remember to do ‘Save and Next’ to go to the next page of the form.

Now, you need to save a hard copy of the Form B. Sign, scan and upload the form. You may also upload the other scanned supporting documents along with the form. When you submit the forms, an SBI challan will be generated and you will need to take a print out of this.

You may now deposit the challan with the proper licensing fee that is printed on the challan and deposit it at any SBI bank branch in India.
