How to Apply for Ration Card Online in Delhi, New Registration Eligibility Guidelines
Delhi is the capital city of India and it is a place where all the cultures fuse with each other. Delhi is the home to people from diversified culture and that makes the place really unique. Everyone comes to Delhi for progressing in life and to catch hold of better opportunity but behind those posh residential areas and malls, there is a Delhi which also nurtures the people living Below the Poverty Line. The government takes care of such people by providing Ration at a subsidized price. Earlier, the government used to provide Ration at subsidized rate to everyone but later the government changed its strategy and it started providing ration only to the people who are below poverty line. Any person who wants to avail this benefit needs to possess a valid ration card and the ration card is issued to the head of the family. The names can be added or deleted from the ration card on basis of the need.
There are a few documents that are required for the application procedure and it is possible to apply for a card through online as well as offline procedure. In this article, we have listed the steps to apply for ration card through online procedure.
Steps to Apply For Ration Card in Delhi
Step1: The first step to application procedure is to visit the National Food Security Portal. The website of the department can be accessed by clicking here. This page will directly redirect you to the application page for Ration Card.
Now click on the yes tab and it will ask you for the aadhar number. Now you have to enter the Aadhaar Number of the head of the family.
Step2: Now you will redirect a new page at https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/in/en/Account/Login.html Now click on the register put all the details accurately after that you will get user id and password details on your registered mobile number. Use that details to login on this page.
Step3: After login using the details please go to the “Apply Online” tab in the left side header click on Apply Online Services. Now find the tab of “DEPARTMENT OF FOOD & SUPPLY” under this section click apply on Issuance of Priority Household Card.
Step4: After adding the details of all the family members, click on Finish Member Entry. Now you can enter the other details which are required by the government to process the ration card.
Step5: Once you enter the details, you can click on submit button and then you will be prompted to upload the photo. After uploading the photograph, you can proceed by clicking the submit button.
Step6: On the next page, you would have to submit all the documents and once you have uploaded all the documents, you can go ahead and submit the form. On successful submission, an application number will be generated and you should save the application number for future reference as it is possible to track the progress of the ration card with help of the application number.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The households having annual income of less than Rs.1 lakh and fulfilling the following criteria will be considered as eligible households for inclusion in the “Priority”/AAY category as the case may be:
(a) Geographically, Socially and Occupationally Vulnerable Groups
(i) Residents of slums
(ii) Residents of resettlement colony of F,G & H categories.
(iii) Residents of notified abadies in rural villages
(iv) Shelterless,
(v) Transgenders
(vi) Households with disabled people (as defined in Persons with Disabilities Act 1995) subject to submission of prescribed medical certificate.
(vii) Single women (including widows, unmarried and separated and deserted women), living in household as dependent or as head of household
(viii) Children living without protection.
(ix) Occupationally vulnerable groups like Rag-pickers, unskilled construction workers, porters, casual daily wage labour, casual domestic workers, cycle rickshaw drivers, unskilled workers in small household enterprises, unskilled workers in household industries.
(b) Other Households :
Other Households having annual income of less than Rs.1 lakh per annum.
EXCLUSION CRITERIA:
Notwithstanding their fulfilling the eligibility criteria, the following households will not be eligible.
(i) If any member of a household owns a light (Four Wheeler) or heavy vehicle (except one commercial vehicle in households for earning livelihood)
(ii) If any member of the household owns a building/land in any of the A to category colonies of Delhi.
(iii) If the household is receiving ration / food subsidy under any other scheme. (iv) If any member of the household is income tax payee
(v) If any member of the household is an employee of Central/State Government, local bodies, corporation/autonomous bodies of Central / State / Local Government.
(vi) If the household has electricity connection above 2KW.
Note
Once the form is submitted, the verification will start and the card will be sent to the residential address. The issuance of the card is subjected to the approval by the verification officer and it is also important to note that the person falling under BPL criteria should only apply for the card.
