- Another category is the Sponsored Family stream and this is for people who are travelling to Australia to see their family members. For this, you need to have sponsor or close family member residing in the country. You should be outside Australia when applying for the Visa and when it is decided.
What are the general requirements for applying for Australia Visa from India:
To apply for your Visa, you need to provide the Notarized copy of your current passport (all pages are must). At the time of submission, the VFS Global may certify your passport.
Whether you are filling the form online or manually at the office, you will need to provide all the supporting documents. Now, pay the visa application charge. You may not need to pay the visa charge us you’re a representative of a foreign government.
Attach a recent passport sized photograph sized 45 mm x 35 mm to the front side of the application form. You must ensure that the photograph has been taken professionally with only the head and shoulders against a white backdrop.
The name of the person should be printed clearly at the back side of each photograph. Now, include the certified copies of your birth certificate. The names of parents should be mentioned clearly in the application.
The High Commission might demand for Health and Police Clearance Certificate. If you are below 18 years of age then you need a no-objection-certificate from your non-accompanying parent stating that they allow you to travel to Australia. You may need to provide the passport copies of your parents.
Other supporting documents for the application
You will need the completed application form for tourist or business purpose. If you are visiting your family members or friends in the country then you would need to provide a letter of invitation. If someone is sponsoring your visit to Australia then you might need to provide supporting documents to show that they have the necessary funds.
If you have a medical emergency and you are going to Australia for treatment then you might need to get a letter of medical emergency issued by a hospital authority or doctor. If your daughter or daughter in law living in Australia is pregnant then you will need to provide a medical report confirming it.
You may also be required to provide a proof of funds and for this you will need to submit copies of your personal and business bank statements showing your savings. Copies that reveal about any other asset or funds that you might have, tax returns filed in the last 3 years.
