Cricket is nothing less than religion in India and a large chunk of the Indian population eagerly awaits the prestigious cricketing tournaments, one of which is T20 Cricket World Cup. The tournament has an exciting format with 20-20 matches, making it a hot favorite amongst avid cricketing fans. T20 Cricket World Cup 2016 is the sixth season of the tournament and this year, it is scheduled to be held in India. Participating Teams in T20 Cricket World Cup 2016
The 2016 season of the T20 Cricket World Cup is going to have a total of 16 teams participating in it, ten of which comprise of the full members while the remaining six are the associate members. The associate members have to earn their position in the tournament by winning the qualifying matches in the ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier 2015, which was held at Scotland and Ireland in July 2015.
The ten full members who will be playing in the T20 Cricket World Cup are India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. On the other hand, the six associate teams to have qualified for the tournament this year include Afghanistan, Scotland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Oman and the Netherlands.
Venues, Date and Time Table of T20 Cricket World Cup
The matches of the T20 Cricket World Cup will be played at venues in seven cities across India. These include Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Mohali, New Delhi, Bangalore and Dharamshala.
T20 Cricket World Cup is once again all set to rule the hearts of cricket lovers in India as well as around the world.
