 The 2016 season of the T20 Cricket World Cup is going to have a total of 16 teams participating in it, ten of which comprise of the full members while the remaining six are the associate members. The associate members have to earn their position in the tournament by winning the qualifying matches in the ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier 2015, which was held at Scotland and Ireland in July 2015.

The ten full members who will be playing in the T20 Cricket World Cup are India, Australia, England, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. On the other hand, the six associate teams to have qualified for the tournament this year include Afghanistan, Scotland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Oman and the Netherlands.
